Roger's Canyon

A pleasant 4.2 mile hike (one way) down Roger's Canyon in the Superstition Mts. leads to this Salado cliff dwelling. The rooms in these photos are nicely preserved because they're inside a cavern that helps protect them from the elements. Many more rooms, most of which were outside of the cave, have all but vanished. In fact, the original dwelling had more than 65 rooms when it was built 600 years ago.

Note the ballcap near the doorway for size reference.
Makes you wonder if the original residents were humans or hobbits.
